Protecting you and the environment |

We provide insurance and financial products and services for individuals, families, groups and organisations that care about their communities and the environments in which they live and work. Deep-rooted ethical heritage Ecclesiastical was founded in 1887 by Churchmen, largely to protect churches from the consequences of fire. We are owned by a registered charity and more recently we have entered a three-year partnership with The Children’s Society, supporting them through sponsorship, fundraising and staff volunteering. Today we don’t just insure churches; we also specialise in charities, education (from nurseries to universities), heritage properties and the care sector, alongside a range of other general commercial risks. We complement these services with home insurance, mortgages, and investment services. We’re committed to providing quality products and services with the highest possible standards. At Ecclesiastical, you can always talk to a real person, not a machine and our customers consistently tell us that we provide them with a caring and efficient claims service. Environment Ecclesiastical is committed to protecting the environment and looking to continually improve environmental performance. There is an Environmental Monitoring Group who sets and monitors environmental targets. The Group’s focus for 2007 is on reducing energy use, recycling, travel and transport and greening our paper supply. Our product literature is from chlorine-free pulps from sustainable managed forests and our corporate stationery is made from 100% wood free pulp. In 2005 a staff paper recycling campaign reduced paper waste in our Gloucester offices by nearly a third. Our London office has won a Gold Award in the City of London’s Clean City Award Scheme recognising good practice in recycling and effective waste management. Our commitment to the community Ecclesiastical’s commitment to giving back to the community extends far beyond a ‘community policy’. We consider the community to be an integral part of how we work and an important part of our success. Ecclesiastical supports local charities chosen by staff through donations, fundraising and volunteering programmes. We continue to support the Church through an annual competition and the Ministry Bursary Awards for study and research in the UK and abroad. Ecclesiastical Insurance Office plc. (EIO) Reg. No. 24869.
